Oof. Tough question right now. Prices are somewhat high. I've seen them about $10/ozt higher as well as lower over the past dozen years.
If I was just starting out and in a hurry, I'd probably do a single tube every week or so until that 500 was reached. That would average your costs over half a year of purchasing. I'd also mix in some gold, and then I'd probably switch to every two weeks.
I'm not yet confident the prices will remain high.
