trimmed average is a weird move to buy time. the sample size of 6.7% is so massive no amount of trimming is needed.
current institutional shares held:
82,048,388 total shares
before sell off:
84,646,684 total shares held
the float was essentially locked. institutions began selling.
to counter, gs board has now reserved shares for employees. this locks the float again.
this is also the reason the amount of registered shares won't be shared coming earning results
