Fair question. To respond earnestly: it comes down to the same reason I don't approve of fawning over big names that attach themselves to this cause in public. If someone wants to obsess over every new development, theory, persona, gossip, etc in real time and in detail they're better served by reddit (since almost everything that gets discussed here is taken from there anyway).
But the truth is, once you've read & digested the DD this whole thing is a waiting game. You buy the shares, register the shares, buy more shares, register more shares, and pass the time. Reddit is its own worst enemy because they get bored and turn into a million retard monkeys with retard typewriters chasing after whatever gimmick someone's dreamt up this month. That kind of rollercoaster energy can be damaging as it crowds out the important foundational DD for newcomers - instead of buying & registering shares, they leave thinking it's a tinfoil ADHD convention. Not only that, but that kind of holder doesn't last - they fixate over and over on specific dates & events, and when it doesn't happen they get deflated.
/GME/ was an oasis of calm compared to that. The whole mantra was comfy & waiting. Important DD in the first post. No noise. We'd still discuss GME but there was also a wider sense of familiarity and mutual zen - an understanding that we'd bought our tickets and we were waiting together for the ride to begin. A modest amount of avifagging was part of that more relaxed philosophy which fostered a sense of community, familiarity and patience. Kind of like seeing the same faces on the train. And, at the end of the day, if someone turns out to be an elite undercover Citadel/CIA black ops ninja - just ignore whatever they shill and buy more GME. It's literally the easiest thing in the world. You just have to not get distracted, and in the mean time enjoy yourself.
You'll be nostalgic for this one day. Even in your mansion.
