A lot of the people at Starbucks refuse to face their actual issues and plug the hole with consooming. Remember those articles when the pandemic started about people who started to meditate and they couldn't take being alone with their own thoughts? They have serious issues, but instead of living in a society that actively encourages people to face their problems head on, they live in a society that tells them to give up and buy something instead.

I unironically want people to be happy, and it sucks to see so many people refuse to take initiative and responsibility for themselves. But maybe they are just cows chewing cud, after all
