Treasuries are pretty nice, but don't delude yourself into thinking it's a real return. It's just capital preservation.
You owe taxes on the interest and it's at your typical short term income rate so really you're only getting 3-4% post-tax, and after adjusting for inflation you're not gaining anything at all.

I don't understand anyone bidding on anything past 6M though.
