I'm demoralised by work. My manager is 3 years younger than me, my manager's manager is 3 years older, and there's another division where people seem to get promoted every year, with many people at higher levels than me.

I'm not enough of a normie to fit in with people and eat lunch alone. I don't want to socialise but I know I need to fit in to be promoted.

It seems like taking part in hideously bullshitty process nonsense (committees with communities of practice, ways of working, social events) is a prerequisite to being promoted, although I'm not fully sure.
