>We know that user's should be the source of truth for their identity. We know that identity primitives should be free and free to move anywhere. We know that the incentive of the system should be to create value at the application layer not the user (identity) layer. We know that choice, privacy and control are paramount. We can mimic a lot of the DID/VC functionality using simple encryption tooling in a way that puts the user's interests first. In the future when the tooling has matured we can adopt usage of things that meet our requirements. Web5's stack for example seems promising.

>We're building an offline first progressive web app for user's to create an identity with encryption and signing key-pairs. We're also building an API layer to handle attestation flows and verification that prefers predicates & data minimization to reduce user's risk. The entire system is non-profit via a DAO operated Foundation. The Foundation issues grants for developments of both common good and revenue generating services. All revenue is used to fund further grants and support the common good developments. Being the narrow waist is non-profit, we instead have incentive to build value where it matters, at the application layer.
