I don't know the situation OP is, but what you're stating is false, just look at the hundreds of shitcoins that went up one time and then died for ever and no one even remembers them. In fact, this is the majority of the crypto market, just take a look at coinmarketcap.
The same applies to humans; the fact that thousands of people kill themselves proves that what goes down doesn't necessarily goes up, but could fall even deeper into the abyss, to never be recovered.
