Even last night when I wanted to sell off some vidya to afford a board game expansion I really wanted I only had it in my to sell off a few impulse buys I hadn't played yet, I couldn't have the heart to sell off anything I had played before
Half the reason I buy gold and silver is to have "emergency funds" that will always keep value no matter what that won't make me sell off the stuff I have I like

I would absolutely want them to experience adversity and challenges throughout their lives, just not "I don't know if I'm going to be able to survive" type of existential dread that our generation has to deal with.
That said, I 100% intend to absolutely coddle my wife and spoil the fuck out of her
