No, there's an actual game world - see pic related. Even offspring strains (flowers created by breeding two flowers) show up in the game world, particle effect and all.
The world isn't open yet, but alpha opens on August 25th. It's just planting stuff for now, but hopefully it'll become more like the non-crypto farming games we're familiar with.
