I agree about tina and the market. Let me speculate that the March crash was a preview of what can happen over an even longer term. Bonds, gold, and stocks all fell at the same time in March. If that happens again, it's going to be financial mayhem as companies scramble for cash and pay off debt. Dividends are being cut across the board. Now the fed came out after the "Stress test" and said banks have to keep their dividends in line. In a major deflationary period, TINA only applies to cash. That said, the government would in all likelihood attempt to raise capital with "recession bonds" or something. After that panic in March, I'm enlightened as to what a crash would really look like. Precious metals would be a meme in that instance.
