Am I spending too much on rent?

>big space, multi bedroom (but the other rooms aren't really sealed off), I have camping equipment and stuff in the other room and a loft overlooking the living room.

So it's about 25% of my gross pay and more than 40% of my take home (after maxing 401k and tax)

I'm 28 and lived at home for awhile, it was amazing saving so much money then. Now it feels like I can hardly save for non-traditional investments and I'm a lot more scared to make poor investment decisions.

I think I'm actually getting a pretty good deal, let's say I found somewhere cheaper - a single bedroom for $1200, that's reasonable and would be hard to go any lower. It probably wouldn't include utilities, so say it's a total of $1400.

I'm paying $600/month to essentially live in a castle with nice demographics. It's still a lot of money though, if I was throwing that in bitcoin instead it could be life changing, not that I don't have some left over for investing anyway.

Ahh I wish it was socially acceptable to live at home. Is having sex on my couch worth $24k/year? This is the part that gets me. And so perhaps buying a house is the best of both worlds, but then I'd have to sell a bunch of index funds to cover that. So I feel like I should just try to earn more money instead.

My dream is to run an exchange, to do it in the USA is almost impossible though. Maybe if I hosted in EU and banned US IPs I could do it legally? Really I want to start with something simpler though and then create my empire.
