In California, no one builds brick homes because they arent structurally sound. Earthquakes have been shown to ruin brick and concrete homes while leaving wood homes intact.

Yards are very nice. They are room for your children to play. You can raise a big dog in a yard or grow a beautiful garden. Many American homes have large woodland areas nearby. Americans like this room, it gives them freedom and independence.

Spending 1/3 of your income on a home is too much. Americans like to spend less on their home than that. We dont judge you for not owning a home, you can do what yo want.
