Daily reminder than in August 1929... the stockmarket reached its peak too. Papers were all talking about how many retail investors had flooded in, and how the market will never go down again... heh.

Happy August 24th.

On this day in 1929 (see attached), people thought the worst of the stock market was over, and scrambled to buy stocks at all-time-highs. The only perceived risk was not being in the market...

What proceeded shortly after in October was a large collapse and Great Depression.

Huh. Seems familiar...
