Ok, so there is a chance to buy some land near the entrance of my old university. The cost of dorm living is ~$3000 a semester. Let's say I build a house on the land for about $400,000 that could hold 10 tenants and charged the same as the university per semester. How long till the house would pay for its self? Also, any comments on other /biz/ posters experience with rental property would be appreciated.
