I've been WFH for 3 years, and been busted for missing deadlines and fucking off a few times.
This past week was the last straw, now I've been forced back into the office and placed on a PIP (Performance Improvement Plan).
I've read that its basically over, this is just them getting me to wage until they can fire me without risk. Im already job searching, should I stick it out for the duration of the PIP or resign? I've got enough money to coast for about a year.
Does getting fired/placed on a PIP get communicated to future employers?

Tomorrow is my first day back at the office 5 days a week instead of fully wfh, and my boss wants to audit all of my open work at noon. I think I may just carry my monitors and dock in from home and quit, then coast off my savings.
This job paid $50k (gross, so more like $41k yearly) plus benefits. Ive got $150k in crypto and about $20k in cash savings.
