Thanks for the reply! I always wondered what holding cash meant in digital trader speak. But isn't a money market FUND different from an MMA? Wikipedia is saying there's a distinction, with funds being more oriented towards various lengths of T bills. Can't you just have an MMA that holds dividend paying stocks? I just don't get what distinguishes an MMA from a regular brokerage account. For example, I open an account at Schwab and just buy dividend stocks, does Schwab consider it a MMA? Or do I have to drop a fat initial investment minimum?

And I can only assume there's tax trickery involved as well, why wouldn't there be?
