The energy usage needed to keep the system running, makes it near impossible for any meaningful adoption.
The entire mining industry surrounding bitcoin is insane and it is unnecessary.

Bitcoin will fail, drag the whole cryptomarket into a winter, the only ones that will come out of that winter is non-PoW coins.

would all coins spend energy as BTC does? It just really clashes with the "green" initiative that everyone has a hardon for these days.

Also, what happens when one day bitcoin is mined out? The story about 21 million must be bullshit, miners wont work for free.
