Yea I can imagine. Still, it looks like we're moving into a central planning behavioristic economy.

I said I would make a /macro/ general, I promise tomorrow. Deep diving into ECB's CBDC as well as MMT - 2 likely possibilities at this point.

I would think they could easily phase out cash. Both Cash and FedCoins would be Fed liabilities at that point. As cash eventually makes its way back into business deposit accounts, it could be converted on par with US CBDC. Give it a few years aaaand its gone.

About boomers, if they are that inept at adapting they would probably be to the point of having family care for them anyways.

There is a huge difference to what is happening now.

At present, QE depends on the commercial banking system to do the actual money printing. Current QE effort is destroying money. Current Fiscal spending (i.e. stimulus) is not coming from printed money, but rather from debt issuance which eventually comes from taxes, so no direct inflation of the money supply happens.

Hard to explain but basically this US CBDC proposal will allow direct money printing without relying on commercial banks as intermediaries.

Look through the PDF from >>22388846 and on page 22 it gets into how they plan to do this without pissing off the bankers.
