OP - $30 isn't a lot, im not sure where you live but if you lack employable skills or can't work... you'll need to get creative. Use your money to get 100ml nitric acid, 500ml hydrochloric acid and urea (look hard, these shouldn't cost much more than $5 per kg). Go to charity shops, ask friends and family too and get as many old and broken computer parts/circuit boards as possible. Strip the gold from old computer parts and disolve in the combined acids (1 :5) *Do Not Inhale The Fumes* - heat it LOW HEAT.. In under an hour you should have disolved all the gold, depends on acid strength. Filter the shit left over from the disolved gold solvent through a coffee filter. Use urea powder to neutralize the acid. You now have solid gold worth more than $30. You can use tumeric spice alcohol solution to determine pH. Check your container used for dissolving is safe for acid.
