I knew they were pushing bonds for some reason.

They CANNOT let this go to trial. If they do, they are going to get destroyed because I guarantee you the people doing the takeover have a whole case built about naked shorting ready to go with witnesses to btfo the shorts.

So basically:
1. Shorts got control of bonds because that's what Icahn is famous for, so they wanted to stop the hostile takeover
2. Didn't matter because RC already had an agreement with the company previously
3. Now, bondholders are basically stalling as they desperately try to come up with a way out of their situation, which is basically either to allow the court to proceed (and continue with the merger/spin-off, which fucks them) or tie things up in court (which they will lose because those taking the company over are prepared).
