cant go wrong with the devils lettuce. Pesticides are a meme. Beneficial predators like lacewigs, ladybugs, and praying mantis are far more effective and don't leave residue, which if you grow cannabis (hemp or thc bud) residue will be a huge nono. Soil science however is the root of all successful growing (pun intended). Good healthy soil with an establish diverse and balanced biosphere will mitigate most fertility, disease, and pest issues. Phyto and micro nutes, minerals(cal/mag), amino and humic acids, microbes, myco(fungi), and redworms are far more important than NPK. If those components are all in place than the plant will be able to procure its nitrogen from the air with its stomata at a 400% increased efficiency than the roots. Greenhouse automation is a great tool for the modern farmer, lots of great tools, but for small scale cannabis you are better off with hand controlled. Automation would be a necessity for cannabis once you breach the 6000 sq ft limit. After that automation will start to provide the value return relative to its cost.
