There's no upward mobility because boomers didn't save enough money to retire so they're just staying in the work force leaving no one able to get promoted and no new positions opening at the bottom.

Literally nothing, my mom never bothered saving money or buying any assets her entire life, her parents bailed her out until they died, she then squandered the inheritance that her parents left for her in a matter of 6 months, is now dirt poor in her early 60s and expects me to take care of her the rest of the way, in true boomer fashion.
