I noticed those discounts too - I assume that Amazon is having the same issue retailers have - they over ordered inventory because they didn't want to have a supply crunch from failing supply lines again - but now inflation is hitting so hard that Americans are no longer spending so they have to discount goods to clear the excess inventory.
Worked out pretty well for me as I needed to buy more protein powder (and creatine) and protein has doubled in price while creatine has 3x'd - IT was still more expensive than when I bought before New Years, but it wasn't as bad as I was expecting.
