Yes. They were studying something, testing for something. She would just hold up the cards and have me say yes or no that wasnt it. I dont remember the criteria but I think she had chosen one in secret and I was guessing which one it was.
I suspect it was an early test for empaths/psychics or something like that. I was always taken away from the other kids for these tests by a special nurse that only came for these tests.

The sound tests were strange too, they would have pings in the distance all around my ear and we would say when we heard them. I thought it was supposed to be for hearing issue testing, but I never had hearing problems and the pings were always mixed in with words that you would half hear, but not really understand. I would bet it was subliminal messaging. I always had headaches after the hearing tests.

I dont know if they knew how good of a name they picked for the program since there is literally a gate I can visualize in my mind, and beyond it used to be just a room of gold light.

I have left the gate broken open and the room is now empty and dark. But my eyes have streaks of gold in the hazel. That is the last residue.

I used it all. I didnt realize what I had done immediately but I wouldnt have hesitated to use it all if I had realized what it was capable of anyway. I used it because I and some other fools had accidentally rolled a log down the hill towards crushed one of my friends to death at a scout camp... but it never happened... and he stood up and walked away, and is still okay today.

I never paid a heavier price for something never to have happened: all of it spent, whatever it was. I dont know the nature of it enough to explain how it worked, whether the GATE program gave me the gate and means to undo my mistake, or if they were just trying to to study it. Whatever it was stored beyond that mental gate, I wont say I am not thankful for it.
