Oh yeah. and regarding the rest of your post. if your job is your whole life and it's going poorly then yeah your gonna feel bad. So it may be time to consider another company, OR internal transfer if it's just a shit team. The meme zoomer advice is sEe A sHrInK but first. Try to find something you like to do and do that. If that doesn't work then yeah maybe see a shrink but you gotta try the obvious stuff first it's like turning the computer on and off before you call tech support.

By the way, switching jobs could maybe help with friends too since if you're the new guy presumably you could meet some folks. I'm personally not a big fan of making friendships too dependent on work but at a big enough company you'd meet folks outside your department i.e. people who wouldn't be pissed off if for whatever reason your job performance (real or perceived) took a turn for the worse.
