I feel kind of weird. Some of you non-USA bros might not be aware of this but the crypto industry essentially bought the entire election results.

Sherrod Brown was an Ohio senator for 18 fucking YEARS, crushing his opponents 3 elections straight.

In 2024, he lost his seat. Why? Sherrod Brown was an active anti-crypto voice, and in 2024 there were $32 million in smear campaigns against him funded by the crypto industry. These campaigns were brilliantly executed. They never even mentioned crypto. They were run through SPACs so the average person would never make the connection. They simply shit all over Sherrod to make him look bad and make the average person dislike him. And it worked.

Many such cases. The crypto industry essentially bought out the house and senate majority this election season. Most likely, that funding affected the outcome of the presidential election as well.

I can say anecdotally I have pretty liberal views, and I despise Trump is a human. I voted Biden in 2020. In 2024, I voted Trump. Why? I have become a single issue voter, and Trump was in my personal best interests despite likely being bad for most of the country -- specifically lower income people. I make $200k a year and have over $1M in assets. Trump will make me much richer. Kamala was clearly not a candidate for someone who has so much personal stake in crypto. I am likely not alone.

Do crypto bros have too much power? We literally just determined the fate of the most powerful country in the world. There is no doubt in my mind the US elections were decided based almost solely off of crypto wealth.
