>buying diamonds
lmao

Rocks are my shit OP, it's my sole hobby outside of video games. If you wanted to invest in shiny rocks there are basically 0 good options these days because most of them can be artificially created, existing stones can be heat treated to manipulate the end result and thus the price, in the case of diamonds you also have market manipulation where large companies buy all of the diamonds from foreigners, control the supply, and then open stores to sell the shiny rocks to gullible women and their cuck partners who get to foot the bill.

Realistically if you wanted to actually have a decent chance at keeping your money buying stones the only way I can think of would be to purchase rare variants of FLAWED precious stones such as sapphires, rubies, emeralds, or obscure minerals that are rare and hard to replicate. Most prices of gemstones is pure speculation, there is not a good metric to measure value but there ARE things that add value. I personally believe that with the increase in fake stones combined with normie interest in using other stones because they're "unique" the best investment in precious stones will actually become flawed stones with interesting patterns that prove their legitimacy and also provide a unique appearance.

That's just my two speculative pennies as an ameteur geologist of sorts anyway. Pic related is a rare type of mineral only found in one state in the US in a very specific region. They are currently being mined and in about a decade the supply will likely be non existent.

Quite literally any rocks. I'll pick up a random rock with no special atributes if I go to a certain location or at the end of a hike because they hold sentimental value, although I almost always find something out of the ordinary.

I have hundreds of different types of rocks and it's almost midnight so I won't be posting any pics, but near my area are "sunstones" pic related taken from online. They are pretty rare, only found in certain locations and I have to drive 10 hours into the desert to find them.

They can be cut and set into jewlery, lots of varied colors and they look fairly unique. People also think they're cool as shit, gave some out to co-workers and one of them gave them to his kid to use in a science project. Feels good to give to people once in a while and improve your surroundings.

Tried taking a pic with my phone just now but it looks like shit with the reflections from the stone, you can't really see the effect with images.

This is a good representation of what raw sunstones look like, I'm going to be going back to the desert at some point in the near future in search of more of these. The real reason I'm interested in them is because there is only one place in the world you can find this variant of sunstone.
