I was thinking of getting a security + after getting shilled at my old workplace by a coworker who was also studying for it, because I'd like to get into cybersecurity. I have linux cli and a little bit of kali/ hack the box experience, but no prior IT experience. I know cyber isn't something you can just walk into, and I'm expecting something entry level at first.

Honestly though, at this point I really don't care. I'll go into any field, even a low paying entry level job if it means I can work remote. I am a US/Japanese dual citizen, so ideally I'd like to get a job with an American company and move to Japan to enjoy the benefits of living somewhere cheaper. Or just fuck off to Vietnam, where I've spent a lot of time as well.

So what IT certs would make it the easiest to get a remote job that pays at least ~$25/hr? Should I go for security +? Reddit makes it seem like it's impossible to get a job even with stacked certs, while youtubers make it seem like you'll get one thrown at you.

Recommendations bros?
