The balance sheet is being run off. Interest rates are heading toward restrictive territory. That leaves only one thing fueling inflation and that's deficit spending which is extremely stimulating to the economy and extremely inflationary. As long as the government keeps spending money it doesn't have the bigger Powell and his successor's jobs will be. And it won't end cuz austerity doesn't win elections and the consequences don't come until later
