Solana is fast and insanely cheap, but stable? There are two dex sites that anyone uses for anything that are DDOS'd every tenth of a second by everyone on dexscreener. Transactions sometimes fail for no good reason other than "fuck you".
Arb isn't the cheapest of the cheap but it's acceptably cheap and I've never had it fail.
My runner up would be Base but since Arb has all the perp sites, why not mix in shitcoins too?

I use a virtual machine but a few discretions are advised.
1. If your host OS is compromised, so is your VM. Keystrokes on the host are keystrokes on the VM.
2. Never type anything on the VM OS that you wouldn't type normally.
3. Copy and paste literally everything
4. Never, ever, use Windows as a host. Someone at Microsoft has your seed phrase.
5. Encrypt everything you can encrypt
If you are a Windowsfag, use TailsOS and stick to flatpacks and appimages for apps and utilities. Far safer than a VM.

Litecoin is well adopted. You can even use it on PayPal. Any route to paying a tuition is going to be easily seen by the government, no matter the route the money got there. This isn't buying groceries or some games on steam.
That said, my favorite spending coin is LTC. It's adopted all over the place and you can spend it everywhere.
