There is an aesthetic sense here that while most people dont appreciate, a select few do, and some of these fuckers have a drive and passion to obtain and complete sets that transcends normal behavior.

For example - I paid 200 dollars for this Mercury Dime.

Is it a particularly rare date? No, MS67 specimens abound for 1944 S, however, it is an FB (full bands) coin, meaning the strike is exceptional. In person she is an absolute beauty, a near perfect specimen.

Then we look closer and see it is an FS-501 repunched mint mark error. Well so what, who gives a fuck? Me personally? I dont really, BUT, this coin is in a population of around 20, with only 3 finer. I personally believe this coin is towards the higher end of that population by the way (gonna go for CAC).

My point here is that this coin, to an overdate variety collector in the future, will be an absolute must have. The cream of the crop, a majestic, perfect beauty, fitting for a PERFECT collection.

The only other specimen of this quality on Ebay currently is going for 675 last I checked. Sometimes I ogle at it, the near perfect fields, the bright white luster and near perfect strike. What a miracle it survived all this time almost completely unscathed.

One day, some rich bastard will want it for his fucking MS67/68 perfection collection and perhaps I will sell it for 10x what I paid. Only time will tell. For now I just will just enjoy it myself.

Moral of the story? HOLD.
