It cannot be fiat because it is finite and the supply cannot be inflated on a whim, as well as the fact that "fiat" means that it has value because the Government declares it so, which is not the case: the market determines the value, as it should with any legitimate currency/money.

Bitcoin, a ton of 1's and 0's in wires and chips, is a more legitimate money than the U.S Dollar. That's how dog shit the USD is.

However I still believe hard assets like Gold and Silver are necessary for any portfolio. They are buy and hold assets which are insurance against market recessions ans crashes and hedges against inflation, but crypto acolytes are obsessed with instant gains and their mindset is that the conveyor belt of cheeseburgers, internet porn and bideo gaemes will never be interrupted. Their mindset is that of the pump and dump day trader.
