nakamoto consensus gives a probabilistic estimation of validation. hashrate drops hard if network is forked, but all systems stay available. it wouldnt take long for civilization to go crazy if global financial systems are offline for even a few days. fact algorand shuts off with a few nodes offline is not a desirable feature
