Oh anon~

>>3383903
I'm debating whether or not to do it.

I'd rather not talk about myself. For that, you can come on to the discords where you might find me. I can tell you I learned a lot just because I have a research analyst background and I've been studying crypto for a year or so.

Anyways, for your portfolio, it depends on your risk profile and time horizons. The way I see things, we're still in the early days (relatively) so I plan to stock up on platforms and protocols (think ZRX and how new exchanges will be built on it) for the long term while picking a few specific dapps that I think hold promise. The issue is that you need a good base for all this, so doing some flipping is necessary (the problem with *that* is that everyone is doing it, which tells me we're in a bubble that is going to pop sooner rather than later) to build capital.

You can find me on the /biz/ and/or 0x discord if you want to talk!

I will confess that I myself think that some of it is self-fulfilling prophecy. But I can promise you that anything that I strongly back I will be invested in OR let you know that I am.

The Chinese generally follow a certain formula when it comes to cleaning up financial stuff like this:
>announce blanket ban that scares the shit out of everyone and they shut everything down
>begin cracking down on all scams/fraud companies and suspected companies (note that there are lot of crypto-related projects in China that we usually don't know about):
https://www.ethnews.com/chinese-government-reveals-list-of-60-icos-under-investigation
>resume normal activities after awhile but under way heavier regulation and a possible political element (gotta have that those CCP committees)

RPX is based in Hong Kong (which is technically a separate system) if I recall, but they've been increasingly taking cues from Beijing in the past few years. So I say wait a bit.

*Hai hai!~*

It seems you're right anon-san! First China...
...then today Russia and Canda...
>https://blog.identitymindglobal.com/ico-regulation-in-canada-winter-has-come
...I'm guessing the EU will be next. That'll make a bunch of anons upset! We'll probably be seeing more attempts to get around this by pooling money together to buy into ICOs with requirements. Of course, that'll only last until some anon runs away with a lot of money or (more likely) ICO issuers catch no. Which will probably happen since people in Slacks are stupid enough to advertise open spaces in their smart contract pools/asking if there are open spaces.

This is why I've said repeatedly in the discords that we have around 2 years to make our fortunes before the gates are closed off to people like us for good! It'll all be regulated and eventually taxed somehow.

And yes, this is why we need decentralized exchanges. Particularly if they're based in foreign jurisdictions! Thankfully, investing in ZRX was a step in the right direction. We'll be getting Radar Relay and 0cean (and more!) in due time. But these are still only ERC20-compliant decentralized exchanges. What we really need are decentralized exchanges that deal with other tokens as well! This is why I'm keeping a close eye on Kyber and Bancor (assuming positive news ever comes out).

If anyone hears of another decentralized exchange in the works, let me know, 'kay?~

Trying to post the full link, anon-san, but 4chan thinks it's spam. Though as >>3156190 says, you can search "embermine" on Telegram or just Google "Embermine Telegram". It is the first result that appears. I suggest signing on for updates.

James also just said that the first person to post a video of the eclipse in totality gets 100 MBRS.

>>3156249
As was stated in earlier MBRS threads and on their Telegram group (where it was raised multiple times and talked about clearly) anon-san, the current MBRS/EMB mixup is because of a problem on Etherdelta's end, *not* Embermines.

This is one of the reasons why the head dev wants to get listed on other exchanges: to get out of the madhouse that is Etherdelta.

Now anon-san, if you're not signed up to the Telegram or don't even bother to check it for updates there, then that is entirely you prerogative. All I ever do is repost stuff from there.

If you feel like you want to sell and make a profit (or you bought above the current price and don't want to hold bags for awhile), that's also your choice.

I'm not responsible for anyone's decisions: at the end of the day, I just present information for others to read and act upon. That's it. That said, my own choice is remain committed to publicly holding my MBRS all the way from here to Spring of 2018, and anyone can see that for themselves if they choose to. That's how confident I am in this project, and how much I feel it will rise in value from now to then.

Oh, and the distributions, because that's basically just free money. Remember everyone, September 1st is the Domain token (DOM) distribution at at 100 to 1 ratio!~

It's confusing, but it's a good way to buy stuff before they're listed in the main exchanges, as people found out with DNT. So yes anon, you should learn. Here's a guide to help you:

Alas, I'm saving up my money for the September ICOs.

The whole pre-registrations for some of the ICOs is a bit of a mess right now.

Enigma's white list ended today (I thought it would end tomorrow). The white list is (if I recall) so you can buy within the first hour of the ICO. After that, it's open game. However, given the absurd interest, who knows if the whole thing won't be funded by then. You can still get onto the white list waitlist though, and maybe get added to the whitelist.

And for the record, I got onto the white list *weeks* ago; it's just that nobody talked about Enigma until recently. My guess is that everyone wanted to keep this to themselves. ALWAYS join the slack of a project you're interested in; best way to stay updated.

Kyber's white list was opened on Friday and supposed to close on the 25th. However, because there was *such* massive interest (their slack literally reached max capacity), it filled up and devs ran around like crazy. This is the latest communication:

>@everyone, as we are now encountering issues on Slack, we will continue our whitelist process at the official KyberNetwork channel on Telegram.

>If you are already on Slack, there is no need to enlist again. However, if you still have friends who are looking to sign up for the whitelist, please direct them to our Telegram channel: t.me/officialkybernetwork

He's talking about me sempai. I have a bit of a reputation on /biz/ because I suggested buying DNT while it was on Etherdelta below the $0.03 range in anticipation of a Bittrex listing. It went up and a number of people made money off of that.

As for people insulting the devs, that's par for course around /biz/. Unless you're "god tier" (see: Enigma Catalyst's cast of all MIT graduates), then they'll find some way to insult devs.

In any case, I have full faith in the devs to build what they've set out to do. Drake is a man of principle, which is rare these days.

You can find me on one of the main /biz/ discords, anon:

I should be in the "Frost" section of the member's list. You'll know when you see me.

Anon, anon, anon! Those are only the negative cases! There are so many more!

Sure, people in the West might not care about their privacy (God help them), but people living in dictatorial regimes who can't communicate safely do! And they tend to *outnumber* Westerners:
...along other potential users, such as privacy advocates, potential government leakers, whistleblowers, and more!

And Signal is all very good and all (I promise!), but it's still centralized! It relies on servers spread across 10 different countries that could be shut down. With a decentralized system like Obsidian though, there is no server! You could take down 90% of the network and this would still work. I'm kinda waiting for someone to tell Snowden about this and then he'll start shilling it.

Besides, the Messaging app is just that: the first app. We're buying into a platform here people! The devs have already stated there will be more announcements, partnerships, and services by year's end!

>>3079346
Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong anon-san, but isn't IOC's messaging system going be integrated into their wallets? So then it won't have a mobile application?

If so, I can't see how these two are in competition. They're both tailored to separate markets; ordinary consumers on computers for IOC and privacy-conscious individuals for Obsidian. I see no reason why both can't exist at the same time.

Correction: they've based themselves off of Stratis, but they are their own platform.

Albeit one showing an interested in privacy-related projects and having the main developer of Monero as a technical advisor.

Wrong, wrong, and wrong, anon-kun! What we're actually trading is percentages. Fiat is just a measurement of that.

To give an example lets say Aragon's token goes up from the current $2.67 or so to, say, $10 by November, give or take certain events. Maybe it can be sooner, maybe it can be later. As we've seen with OMG though, a *huge* announcement involving Vitalik's new blockchain will get you up from the mid $3 range to the low $6 range. Unless Aragon has that kind of announcement under wraps, we'll assume slower growth. Anyways, that $10 goal is great and all, you'd only be making 4x the money you put in.

I'm betting that the DNT I bought in at $0.02 will shoot up to $0.20 once it makes it onto the large exchanges. So that's a 10x return in a short period of time, maybe a few weeks. And even higher in the long term. So I'm looking at a possible x50 (a mere $0.50 per token) on whatever I put in by the end of the year, give or take. Plus, Aragon will be a component of what DNT has set out to achieve. So either way, I can't lose.

ETH and BTC hold value because they're the biggest, and there is plenty to grow in the long term, but not the short bursts of money that makes one a millionaire overnight.
