For the last time, people, inflation causes everyone to cut back on discretionary spending.

Only once hyperinflation kicks in do you get compulsive buying.

Before working, I felt like you, OP. I went from a shared office at my first job to a cubicle (full walls, in the corner!) now.

What everyone else said is correct. Privacy and windows are two of the biggest factors. It beats some shitty outdoor job, but definitely don't settle for a 2 hour commute and retiring at 65.

If you want to actually aim for that, pretty much any white collar job has cubicles. You've got generic office jobs like:
>Sales
>Customer service
>Accounting
>"Office administrator"/secretaries/temps
>IT
As well as whatever the various companies specialize in. (A medical billing office might have insurance specialists in cubicles, an engineering firm might have engineers, etc)

Does any of that strike your fancy?
