But what are the facts? Is there any data which could shed light on the questions of "do most Iranians want to live under a backward religious dictatorship?" We could get some idea from looking at birthrates.

From this real evidence we can see that, far from being religious zealots breeding like rabbits as /pol/ would have you believe, Iranians families are having less children per woman than the United States. Hardly sounds like the behavior of people who want to live under primitive desert religion dictums.

Micro minority governments successfully clinging to power for hundreds of years are a feature of history if you look at the details of what % of population actually partook in ancient battles. Once established, it's hard to change until a crisis occurs.
