Homeowner here. There is literally nothing wrong with renting.

The anti-landlord complaints across the internet are 100% unfounded. Anti-capitalist retards think that landlords are raking in huge profits, but the truth is that the average landlord is only making 10% or less profit on your rent.

You think you pay $1500 to your landlord, so that means they make $1500 in profit. But it's not true.

First they have to pay property taxes, then the bank loan for the property, then building insurance, then maintenance fees. And maintenance is WAY more than you think it is. Literally every single piece of the building must be maintained or replaced over time, and this all goes into the rent. When you rent a house or apartment, you aren't just renting the space. You are paying monthly to cover the cost of water pipe breaks, electrical problems, foundation repair, roof replacements, wall painting, floor replacements, etc.

When you pay $1500 in rent, the landlord is lucky to make $200 profit from it. Which means that even if you abolished all landlords and everyone owned directly, you would only reduce your monthly cost from $1500 to $1300, unless you want to live in an unmaintenced shitbox. In fact, because the landlord gets bulk discounts, you might not even save the $200 when paying for maintenance yourself.

What those young guys who are ~14-24 don't realize is that at those ages, yeah a 30 year old woman is gross and unappealing. But by the time they turn 30 themselves, they will still be attracted to women their own age, who are also 30.

When I was a teenager the hottest chicks I would consider banging were my hot 25 year old teachers. Now I'm mid 30's and I know some hot 40 year old women I would fuck.

Of course young girls are still hot as fuck, but if I have to settle for 40 year olds, it's not that bad as long as they look good for a 40 year old.
