I think the important thing to note here is that hedgies really, REALLY care about quarterly record dates. Making this shift right at the end of Q2 is going to fuck them raw when they run the volume up a gorillion percent and then suddenly run out of locates.

The fact that they care about reporting record days means there's an upper leverage limit for hedgies based on number of shares available in company filings. That means if the DRS mumbers stay high on high volume days they get heemed for an entire quarter and will be forced to close.
