I work in tech sales and base my entire budget around my base salary (55k). Last year I made 115k but am saving every penny I make in commission as I'm aggressively saving for a house. For reference, I'm 24 so I really don't need to spend much or keep up facades or anything.

For the rest of my salary, my monthly take-home pay after taxes is just over 2500/mo, split as follows:

We both have similar base salaries - she's a teacher and I'm in tech sales - but my OTE is significantly higher and I'm aggressively saving for a house so the arrangement works out really well.

We both make roughly 50k base so we have a 100k budget laid out and I saved 36k last year after taxes. She also gets 20k in down payment assistance from the state we live in. We're both really into personal finance so it's kind of a game at this point
