Good info! Do FED interest rate cuts raise the value of existing bond yields, and why do bonds become more valuable in a recession?

My REIT question is mostly because I have been eying NRZ, which has taken a relatively large hit recently. Apparently it is an mREIT that has been hedging against it's MSR portfolio with agency bonds ... you know what? I think this is just too complicated for me.
