I don't do "actual" leverage for this reason, but daily leveraged ETFs. They only have a problem if we have a multi year high beta crab market, and I'm pretty sure that won't happen. Other than that, if the underlying takes 1 year to recover, so will the leveraged (minus costs and some slippage).

That's fucking FUD. They have plenty of margin on their cars without carbon credits or tax cuts. It's only that they build factories from that additional margin.
The valuation is absolutely insane tho.

You also get a 100% better upside. If you buy in now, and there is a crash, and it takes 3 years to recover to the same price level, it will also take 3 years for the leveraged ETF to recover to the same price level (minus some stuff like beta slippage and fees).

3x on QQQ is a bit much, but some leverage is healthy in the long run too

If you really don't plan to cash out in 3 years, you should be okay. Also keep in mind that we may reach the top of the asset bubble anyy minute now (tm), and you'll have to hold for 5 years after the top.

Pros: better yield
Cons: huge drawdowns, so if you don't have the stomach for it, or you need cash during a dip, you'll lose a ton of money.
