US has had blips of deflation on consumer prices before. Blips, not spirals.

China, too, has had intermittent periods of consumer price deflation without it turning into a spiral. It is concerning that youth unemployment continues to hover over 20%, but this is comparable to levels of youth unemployment all across Europe. The US hit 22% youth unemployment at the pit of the 08-09 financial crisis. Spain, currently, is at 25% youth unemployment which is down from a peak of 55% they hit during the Europoor Crisis of 2011. EU as a whole is at 15% or so youth unemployment.
