Nobody knows for sure. But:

1) This wasn't even a big crash, more like normal volatility. Investors have been spoiled by the past 10 years.
2) Most people don't own stocks so a stock market crash doesn't affect most people's livelihood as long as the economy is still hot, which it is.
3) For midterms the state of the economy hasn't been super influential. That's not to say it has no influence, but the approval rating of the president is more important. The economy is much more important for presidential elections.
