Really it's just a compliment. Being a little bit sheltered growing up is a good thing. It means you get to live a happy and naive childhood. Being slightly sheltered as an adult is also a good thing. Not having to pay rent is a privilege and one would be foolish not to take part in this instead of giving rent money to some fuckhead who would curbstomp you if he legally could.

Imagine my life if instead of living rent free with my mother and putting most my money into digital funny money I was living paycheck to paycheck with literally no hope to improve my life? Sad state of affairs that would be. Most people in that situation are hopelessly depressed.
