Stay away from Chainlink, it is a LARGE pump and dump discord group that shilled this for a long time. Be careful, with the Chainlink shills here as they are a well paid marketing group.

I am from WSB and have been posting there for over 2 years, so I am well versed in this kind of thing. Stay away from Chainlink.

Is it pointless? Will running a chainlink node with the end-goal of becoming a "certified" node operator just be a waste of time, money, and effort?

Is link never going to make it?

I don't know. But I want to become a certified node operator just in case link becomes a trillion dollar market, with link tokens being used to represent values raised in smart contracts worth millions or even hundreds of millions of dollars. Why spend real money on something that might not be fulfilled, when you can just stake a percentage of the total contract value on some tokens belonging to a third party?

Anyway, to add further redundancy to my poor-mans node; I would make use of the Google Compute Engine, and as many other "free/temporarily free" compute power for rent services (AWS, Azure, whatever) to ensure further redundancy and data parity even in the event of a country-wide network outage.

Google offers USD $300 worth of compute that is enough to run an entire chainlink node for 6 ~ 12 months without having to spend a cent of MY money.

This way, I further ensure redundancy and make my node an attractive option for potential clients wanting to utilize my chainlink node as an independent party in the fulfillment of smart contracts.

I love the old logo so much. Seeing it triggers so many memories and feelings for me. The American Psycho portfolio webm, all the early memes, toilets, all the discussions redpilling me on the potential of smart contracts, the wild theories about the domain name and the god protocol, the implications of ic3 and Accord... So much has happened since then, what a ride it has been. A lot of ups but also a lot of downs... I knew, I fucking knew the moment I simply saw the hint of an association with swift that this one was legit and biz wasn't lying to me. swift = dollar bills in my eyes. It was the first reason to buy LINK. But two years later and it's now obvious this was a fake it til you make it marketing strategy and there's never going to be chainlink-powered smart bonds utilized by all global banks. Also, the new logo is soulless.

What convinced you then? And how do you feel about it today?

You fat, cock sucking pieces of shit have no idea what you're talking about. This is a legit project, out of thousands of crypto projects this 1 and a handful of others actually look good and should take off 1 day with good reason. You honestly think that devs of a $32mil project are concerned with keeping some social media addicted, millennial morons up to date with the latest news from said projects? Because they are not. If you want to keep up to date, ask questions on the slack, follow the github, don't come to a Japanese anime board crying about lack of tweets.

You people think bin laden orchestrated 9/11, you think iraq had weapons of mass destruction, you think north korea and iran are threats to the west and you probably think we've been to the moon and that we live on a fluke ball spinning around the sun at thousands of miles an hour and that the moon is just a lump of rock there by chance that only appears to be the same size and travels similar routes to the sun, because it's exactly the right distance, by coincidence, and our ball earth tilting at exactly the right angle, by coincidence, rotating at exactly the right speed, by coincidence that they just "appear" the same size, travelling the similar routes and the same speed because COINCIDENCE - MUH BIG BANG ALL THE SCIENTISTS CAN'T BE WRONG.
WELL YES THEY CAN. BECAUSE THEY ARE. AND ALL YOU FUCKING RETARDED PIECES OF SHIT CAN'T WRAP YOUR HEAD AROUND THE FACT THAT YOU, YOUR PARENTS, YOUR TEACHERS AT SCHOOL, REPORTERS ON THE NEWS AND ALL THE "TOP SCIENTISTS" HAVE BEEN LIED TO FROM FUCKING BIRTH. ABOUT EVERYTHING. INCLUDING THE VERY NATURE OF YOUR BEING AND THE VERY NATURE OF REALITY. IT'S ALL A FUCKING LIE.
CHAINLINK IS THE WAY OUT
GET IN OR GET FUCKED.

I had a dream the other night, I was driving down a road called Chainlink road, it was like any other road at first, but it soon became extremely narrow, and there were road works starting so there were tools and shit everywhere, litterally just on the fucking road so you had to swerve to avoid them. Then there was no pavement, so there were pedestrians walking on the road to, I had to constantly pull to side to let people walk passed, swerve to avoid pot holes and cement mixers, it became a really shit uncomfortable ride.
I saw a turning, I had a chance to get off a find a quicker route, but my instinct told me no - this was the quickest way, despite all the shit, so I kept going. Not long after the road widened again, it was now in perfect condition I carried on driving and reached the bottom and arrived at a big, grand mansion I'd never seen before, and although I'd never seen it before I somehow knew that this was my home now, I had truly made it. The house was just as great inside as out, filled with immense happiness and excitement, I woke up from the dream.

Do you see what this means linkies? We are definitely going to make it, just fucking hold marines, I love you all.

anons,
its me from the prior post and call/price estimates thread
i have some time before a social event and i'd like to clarify one thing that may make link holders sleep better at night
to refresh: i'm just a random guy who does lots of research into my investments with other people who are like minded. from this i know a few things but i am not any insider.

a few threads have revolved around "oracles are necessary for widespread adoption of smart contracts and DLT"
this is kind of right, but really not
the target audience of this whole infrastructure is large, highly complex agreements that currently require a large amount of cost because they are not trustless. the promise of DLT is that, because it is immutable, public and auto-executing, it allows parties without trust to engage each other in an environment where they can be sure a contract will execute. this saves potentially a lot of cost.
remember legacy infrastructure has no intrinsic drive to adopt DLT unless it saves money. legacy business also has a HUGE incentive to have the end asset exchanged be fiat.
many anarchocapitalism kids think fiat will die. it will not; fiat is enforced by the highest order mechanism: taxation (and by extension the option to use force to get taxation, only payable by fiat).

Why does all this matter?
any smart contract platform MUST have the ability to have original input and output in fiat. if you look at picrelated you'll notice that they make a clear point (over and over) to show input side and output side fiat intermediaries. Sergey has understood this from the start, that's why the project has developed in the strange manner it has (SWIFT as an early development partner? Think of the huge gift he had to give them in order to get this....) and (to my knowledge) all other oracle providers are just starting to get this through exploring the space.

smartcontracts need trusted external data to function, but this can be done in a few different ways....

My Dad works for a top banking firm based somewhere in Europe, he's pretty high up too but I can't say which to avoid any chance of you guys finding out who he is.
Long story short he just rang me to say Mum is going to be late home and that I should just get a pizza out the freezer for my dinner instead of waiting for her to get home. Also I invested my life savings in chainlink and I have no idea what oracles or smart contracts are.

Let's talk mainnet. Do you guys think it will be out by September? Why, why not? Is private repo real? How long does it take to develop repuatation and consensus contracts? So many questions.

Linkbros, discuss. We need to answer this, pronto.

None of what I posted was real, and I feel bad. I misled a lot of people here, and there's a reason the price is lower than it was 5 months ago. This token was never meant to go past even $1, price isn't important, and that's why there is no marketing.

I would sell while you still have any value
