I said this probably a dozen times now but the way I think something like WHL can take off, and I mean really take off in the sense that it would be used by +90% of crypto people, would be if it was decentralized as opposed to ran by some guys on their AWS server.
Imagine Kadena.moe but with such a feature, literally all the parts are there we just need to combine them, improve the board, add a wallet feature and improve that one by using oracles to view other chain's data when the wallet signs proof of the over ship. All ran on Kadena (the best L1). And people would not just use it, but simply because it's decentralized, it would become THE cryptocurrency forum, for the entirety of crypto/defi and by extent the entire world. It's like crypto twitter but actually good.
I can't stress enough how big this would become simply by having the entire backend be on a public ledger. Imagine if ETH scaled and the founders of any of the big projects ran a decentralized forum on it. It would instantly become the main hub of discussion of every user because every user has access.
I could be wrong though, wasn't windows messenger something like that?
