Before one year = add that sum to your taxable income for the year

After one year = get taxed at the lesser rate for being a good goy

Okay, frens...

I have a trading strategy I would like some validation on before taking positions.

So I look at a lot of these ETFs and ETNs that are prone to decay. What are the pros and cons of shorting something like SQQQ and TVIX, letting it die from contango / backwardization / judaism and then buying it back?

I know there are things that I am not seeing... Halp pls!

Puts are opposite of Calls.

Puts are "The right of the buyer to PUT their shares of stock up for sale directly to your account at the agreed upon strike price."

Basically, if you Sell-to-Open a Put, you are writing "Crash Insurance."

>Don't worry, scared investor! For the low, low price of tree-fiddy, I will step in at $ZZ.zz and buy all of your shares from you no matter what!

(You) gotta set profit targets and take them when they're hit, fren. Also trailing stops are excellent crash protection.

PROTIP: Always have your Exit planned before Entry.

Well, I take everything I read about the stock market with a grain of salt, but this is a dude who is literally boots-on-the-ground over there. Just throwing it out there for what it's worth, kid.
