Amazingly i got to meet one of the men that worked at that mine when he was a teenager. I was helping out at the local museum when this 90 year old man wandered in. He was looking at the wall of photos and ore samples from different mines in the district, and i asked if i could help him with anything. He told me to fuck off because he was "in his memories", pointing right at a shot of the Silver Standard. He started talking about the first time he road the little man buggy down the drive, seeing the light slowly fade away into black into the mountain. His eyes were unshakable marbles. I cant recall his name right now, but he worked at Silver Standard for nearly 20 years before shifting to Premier at Stewart BC. I dont know if hes still around, I might have to look into that.
