The argument is, that while setting out to aid minorities, unqualified workers and women, in practice, minimum wage does the opposite. It robs them of their only bargaining chip, in that, they can be hired more cheaply over their more qualified, experienced counterparts. Under minimum wage, these unskilled workers are priced out of the market. Why would an employer hire someone with no experience over someone with years of experience for the same price?
